2nd grader - in the nurses office daily

Our son goes to the nurses office nearly everyday with a vague problem, for example his stomach hurts. When we ask how it hurts he says " it hurts like I need to go home". His ailments never occur outside of school.Over the summer he had acute brain swelling that put him in the hospital for a few weeks and caused him to lose most of his motor function during that time. He went through rehab and is pretty much back to normal. His first 2 weeks back to school they only had him do half days to make sure he was capable of handling it. The vague ailments started when he went back full time.At this point we do not know what to do, but we get calls from school daily. We can usually calm him down enough to get him to go back to class and the rest of his day goes well. The problem is the time during the day that he misses class and we have to sit on the phone with him, or talk with him at his school. At first we just comforted him hoping it would pass once he got back into the routine of full days, but now its been almost 6 weeks of this.Does anyone have any suggestions? We have thought about trying to change schools? If we tell him he needs to go to the Dr. he is usually okay with it, he has been a few times and there is nothing wrong. We are just at a loss; and I am getting to the point of wondering if we need to make threats about taking toys or treats away. I am concerned with the treats causing him to not let people know when he is actually sick though.Help!!!! via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2e5gbcU
