My daughter is 7 and she gets emotional sometimes. She will lash out and say things she doesn't really mean. Some examples are "I hate you." -- "I hate myself" -- "I will kill you" -- "I will kill myself". She really only does this when she gets in trouble or she is not be listened to.I remember saying shit like this when I was a kid, but I outgrew it pretty quick. I'm wondering if I should be concerned or is this normal type behavior. The "i hate you" stuff seems pretty benign but I get concerned when she talks about killing even though I know she would never take any action on that thought. She's just trying to express her anger and frustration in the moment. To give some contrast her twin sister has learned that if she does what we ask she avoids getting into trouble. The other daughter feels like she's giving in, and holds on to her anger more -- its like she's giving in if she just does what we ask or avoids trouble.Does anyone have any recommendations on how to deal with this? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2a6967z
