Turning on the heater linked with getting daughter sick?

Ever since it got cold and I turned the heater on my daughter and my wife got sick and then I got sick. Dry throat, cough, runny nose. It seems like all the heater is blowing out dry air and is getting us sick. Is this a thing anyone is aware of? via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2prVmS8
