The most important thing to remember, is that a young child looks to YOU and your REACTIONS to learn how to behave and feel.

Before a child develops a sense of self, they see the world through the eyes of their parents. They keep close watch on any facial expressions and body language, and use that information to develop responses to things. If you tell your kid all about how much you hate and suck at math, guess what: they’re probably going to hate and suck at math (unless they have the talent to outweigh the feelings). If you make a big deal about your kid’s crushes, guess what: they’re probably going to feel a lot of anxiety about talking to girls they like. If you react to their failures with intense emotion, guess what: they’re probably going to develop the inability to take criticism. These things have an impact all the way into adulthood - even potentially causing personality disorders. And if you think all this pressure is too much for you, then you shouldn’t be a parent. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2Crn70d
