Starting a kid-safe phone + service company

I had issues similar to others on r/Parenting when it came to phones, but I also noticed my 10yr old was getting spam calls and texts that I wanted to block. Also, I wanted:(1) All calls and texts to be blocked by default(2) My wife and I to easily manage a safe-list of numbers(3) Data, if I wanted to let him use it(4) In case I needed to, a way to monitor texts without taking his phone from himI tried the Gizmo, and other devices and the lacked one thing or the other. I'm in tech, so earlier this year I decided to make what I envisioned myself. Right now, I can do all of the 4 items I listed with my son's phone, and he loves having one!The way (2) and (4) work, when someone new calls my wife and I get a text message asking if we want to let them connect with our son. If we reply Y, they get a text message back saying they can now call. If we text back n, they are added to the blocked list and the next time they try to call or text, it just disconnects the call. I automatically archive text messages online so I can see them without having to touch the phone.I'm working on doing a proper kickstarter launch, especially if other parents would find this useful as well and would love to get feedback from the group! via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2KlF3xB
