I have a baby gate blocking off the kitchen from the living room. When my son was around 1 my uncle asked why we had one. I told him so my son doesn't get into the kitchen?? Like hello."Oh I never needed one when I had my kids. I would let them play in the containers and they learn what they are and aren't allowed in""They should be able to explore" yeah uncle Mark, he's pretty shut off from the world. I guess he'll have to explore the baby proofed areas of the house ;(I really didn't need my son screwing around in the kitchen where I need to chase him every 10 seconds. No thanks dude lol. My son is 3 now and he is fine to go to the kitchen because he knows it's not a play area! He's not some freak because he wasn't allowed to play in the kitchen as a baby.Idk why this still irks me 2 years later when I think about it lol via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2QHE2DT
