We are agnostic and haven’t really discussed religion. My daughter is 5 and recently watched the Netflix Christmas story and was pretty into it. I thought this would be a good point to talk to her about religion. I explained that is what the church in our town is for, so people can pray to god and they believe Baby Jesus came to teach us how to be good people. Her reaction, “well that’s stupid it’s just a story!” I said well lots of people believe it. She said who would ever believe in stupid baby Jesus anyway?!? I explained everyone can believe what they want and she can’t call baby Jesus (or anyone) stupid. Thought we were good but she talked to my mom this week and asked if she knew “that people actually believe in baby Jesus? That’s so stupid!” Ugh!
