My daughter is 6 years old and she literally yells or talks back at my husband and I ( including teachers and other adult family members) and slams doors when she doesn't get her way. We've tried talking to her about it, taking stuff away, not letting her play outside or miss a gymnastics class as a punishment and nothing seems to work. My husband would tell me in private " I am this close to whooping her ass. Why I am having to argue with a 6 year old ?".
