My daughter is 7 and her friend is 8. They play quite well together, her friend is a sweet girl but she always has these stories. Some examples, yesterday they were playing in my daughter’s room when both came out saying there was a mouse in the room. They were laughing and joking so I thought they were talking about my daughter’s soft toy but the girl kept repeating there was actually a mouse in the room. My daughter kept asking her if that was a prank and the girl kept repeating that she saw one, I went on explaining why it was impossible for a mouse to be in the room but I didn’t drag the conversation. Long story short, my daughter was hesitating in sleeping in her room. It took me a while to convince there was not a mouse in there.Today, after lunch I gave the 2 girls the last of 2 Easter eggs, as soon as the girl had a bite she said there was an M&M in hers. I said, well that’s impossible because these are hollow eggs, besides M&M’s are a different brand, those were Cadbury. (I must confess, I felt a bit silly arguing with her). There more stories, I just can’t remember right now. Most of the stories are harmless and I understand that kids tell stories but we do have a rule that we do not tell lies in the house and we keep repeating to my daughter that we don’t need to tell stories to impress people.I don’t know how to handle the situation, firstly she is not my daughter but I also don’t want my daughter to think it is ok to tell fibbles.Edit: Grammar via /r/Parenting http://bit.ly/2DOMSsu
