I am a 30 year old woman, no children, no plans of children, and I am now the legal guardian of my 14 year old sister. My father passed away yesterday morning after having two heart attacks within 3 weeks of each other.I am starting university in September to ensure I have a better paying job upon graduation. Me and my fiancĂ© are looking to get a 2 bedroom place so we can ensure my sister has her own room. She’s fairly quiet and introverted but we get along. We may have spent maybe 2 months altogether during her life. How do I handle the grief of losing our father together and do I also give her her own time to grieve on her own with therapy? She’s moving from a small town into a significantly larger city. How do I make this process easier for her?Any other tips for caring for a teenager? I am going to do my absolute best to ensure she has a good life with me, as it was my dads dying wish that she lives with me.How do I ensure there is a sister/guardian relationship and make sure there are boundaries?Any help is appreciated. I’m overwhelmed but ready to do my best. via /r/Parenting http://bit.ly/2Y2AtIM
