Being a single dad with one girl (4 yr. old)

I’m a 25m and have a young, beautiful daughter. My relationship with the mother is good, but we are broken up; she pushed for marriage way too hard, I didn’t respond with a ring ‘quick’ enough so she dumped me. I didn’t want to be married at 21, and yet she believes we will still end up together.. no. So, no formal custody agreement exists. She’s at my house, then at the mothers 2 weeks on/off. We’ve maintained this civilly, no problems, and our daughter has continued to be perfectly acclimated. So all good, wrong. I take my daughter to a baseball game out in New York, were enjoying ourselves and have no trouble. Daughter has to go to the bathroom. We leave our seats, and another couple watches our stuff. So here’s where the fun begins, I take my daughter into the men’s room, her eyes pointed down and right into a vacant stall. I close the stall door, stand in front of it and she does her thing. No guys even raise an eyebrow. I take her out, wash her hands, we’re on our way. As I’m a few feet out a lady is screaming ‘EXCUSE ME. EXCUSE ME, YOU SIR.’ And this bitch decides to call me out as a ‘bad father with poor judgment’ and should be disgusted. Apparently never under any circumstances can a young girl enter a men’s room, with her father there. The lady’s alternative? ‘You ask a mother, a lady who looks innocent to take your daughter into the bathroom. There’s only one way in and out.’ I told her she had no place, and absolutely no authority to dictate what I do with my daughter. And I condemned her for her hostility, and yet alone performing the stunt in public, with my daughter at my hand. Had she followed the whole thing, she’d see nothing was wrong, or ‘disgraceful’. Sure, maybe unordinary. But I’m not going to send my daughter off to the bathroom with a stranger.TL;DR: A Susan verbally berates a young father after taking his daughter into a men’s restroom to go potty. via /r/Parenting http://bit.ly/2MarrbE
