Do you let your 5-year-old son paint his fingernails?

We all know the social stigma that painted fingernails are "for girls and goths". Let's say your 5 yo son wants his nails painted. Do you paint them and let him face potential bullying?Do you paint them and let him face potential (and probably likely) bullying without warning him?Do you tell him that he's going to be bullied and discourage him from doing it, but still paint them if he insists?Do you just warn him about potential bullying and paint them anyways?Or do you not allow him to paint his fingernails, but paint his toenails instead?Would a 5 yo even understand the social stigma aspect, or will his feelings just get hurt?I was bullied about my weight to the point (roughly 8 to 12 years old) that I starved myself into being skinny. And as parents, we want to protect our kids from everything and I had to learn how to let go and let certain situations play themselves out. via /r/Parenting http://bit.ly/2QxJ9Vn
