I’m sorry for a political post. Please delete if inappropriate. My state recently voted on a “heartbeat bill,” and although it didn’t pass, it was moved to some vague summer session, which mostly means it’s not going anywhere, but it could be revived next session.I have a soon to be 15 year old daughter. She has no boyfriend, and in fact doesn’t seem interested in romance/sexual activity yet.But God forbid something happen to her against her will. I’m so distressed. If such a law passed in our state, I’m going to offer her the chance to get a copper IUD or other birth control.I’m so, so angry that vulnerable young girls like my daughter would have no protection if they needed an abortion. I hate that she’s living in a society that doesn’t believe in her autonomy.I’m having a hard time discussing with her how she owns her body, that no one can force her to use her body in any way she doesn’t consent to...except that maybe the government can. via /r/Parenting http://bit.ly/2Ekv8Fv
