Since my daughter has been living with me, I had decided I would let her choose her own clothes. Circumstances made it to where she didnt have control of anything else in her life, I thought that her clothes at least would be something she could choose herself. When she 1st came into my life, she dressed like a "normal" kid. Tshirts, Jean's, etc, but I am a huge anime fan, and one day, she saw a girl in a dress in one of the shows I was watching and fell in love. When it was time for her to start school, she chose nothing but fluffy Goth loli dresses. And as time passes, whenever we go shopping for more clothes, she picks more dresses. Personally I think she is beautiful in the dresses, like a little porcelain doll.Just about everyone else in our lives thinks it is strange, or weird, and they think that I am doing her a huge disservice by even letting her dress this way.I didnt think there was anything wrong with the way she is dressed, she is covered from head to toe, most of the dresses are as long as her ankles, the shortest is still quite a bit past her knees. The only thing that took getting used to for me was just how long it took her to get ready in the morning with the dress and the stockings and the shoes and the hair ribbons. Is it a huge deal that a child doesnt dress exactly the same as every other child? Am I hurting her by letting her dress the way she wants? via /r/Parenting http://bit.ly/2F4Wtwx
