I imagine this is the first of many times that my kids' interests will confuse me. But if you'll indulge me a newbie parent rant:My two year old just discovered Thomas. You guys. We haven't seen the show. We've only read these janky ass books from the library. Way too much text, convoluted plots that even I sometimes don't understand, and the pictures are shitty screen shots from the show. The second half of the book has the pages printed upside down, just, you know, to mix it up a bit.My kid LOVES them. He says, "I love mommy and daddy and Thomas." When I sing him bedtime songs, he begs me to sing about Thomas. He says Thomas is his best friend.I don't get it. He has my full, loving support but I absolutely do not understand the appeal. Anyone with me? via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2PDy2Ne
