My 11-year-old son still cries very easily for a boy his age. I don't want to be "that dad" but even my wife thinks he's awfully old to be this way. Plus there was an incident at school yesterday.

So I don't want to be too specific, but there was an incident at middle school yesterday. My son wasn't bullied and wasn't hurt, but a thing broke and caused him to think that he was going to be in trouble for it breaking the thing, and as a result he broke down crying in front of a room full of kids. And when he told my wife in the car ride home from school what happened, he was sobbing the whole time - not because he still thought he would be in trouble, but because he was embarrassed about crying before. This (crying in front of everybody) seems to really bother him - and I can't blame him. It's hard to bring up to people, though, without sounding like a dick. Is this the kind of thing that's going to resolve itself soon?No there aren't any significant things I'm leaving out - no trauma/illnesses/etc. - he's always been a sensitive kid, which has been great. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2Dpipl1
