Anyone else’s child go through ‘how much does that cost?’ phase

My son has just turned six. For the past few weeks he been asking me nonstop how much things cost. Every single thing. ‘How many dollars is that?’. ‘Is that a lot?!’ Over and over.I don’t have a problem with this. In fact I find it quite sweet and hilarious. I wonder why though? he always wants to buy a new toy when we go to the shops. And usually his mother or I say something like ‘ we don’t have money for that’. Maybe that’s why?
