Any advice on how to raise a decent human being? Pretty please?

Hello, parents! We have a wonderful daughter, she's 11 months old and is developing as expected. She's a little bit fussy and very bossy. I.e. She wants to do everything by herself, doesn't like when we show her how to do things. As many kids do, she's throwing tantrums when we don't allow her something, she can't get something or just wants to be picked up. In these situations we do what we think we should - we ignore her until she calms down. The thing is - she's doing it more often than less. We've read that you can't give in to your child's "requests", but it seems this method is having the opposite effect. Many of you probably have went through this, did you find any solutions to the situation? We don't want her to learn that by throwing tantrums she can get her way, but ignoring seems to have the opposite effect.Any advice will be greatly appreciated, thank you fellow parents! via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2PqoPI3
