K teacher says daughter isn’t listening..

Hello! I have a 5 year old and she just started Kindergarten at the end of August.Teacher started mentioning that she notices my daughter doesn’t listen/ follow directions. She gave us a few tips at home to try and to no avail, no real changes. Our previous experience has been that she hasn’t had any real issue with school (she was in preschool & Pre-k), so this is new territory for us.Last Friday, teacher approached me while I was picking up my daughter from school. They had some sort of math test, the teacher had gone over the instructions before the test, and my daughter didn’t really follow them. I go over the day’s lessons with my daughter every single day for a good amount of time. Do I notice she doesn’t listen? Yes. Does she understand the concepts though? Yes. I’ve noticed that she’s had some improvement since the previous week’s test- it’s multiple choice and maybe she’s overwhelmed with it?I asked the teacher what she suggested and she said “I don’t know, I’m perplexed.” Well, I didn’t exactly find that helpful either because we are trying and It’s frustrating that she had complaints but no helpful suggestions- or any suggestions at all. My husband and I are going to try after school tutoring with a gym class afterwards. We are hoping that getting directions that aren’t solely academic will be helpful.Does anybody else have any suggestions or any experience with this? via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2yzpv3h
