Kindness and compliments from other parents are the best

So I am at this kindergartener's birthday party - it was one of those hellish bounce places where everything is loud and sticky but slightly too small so most parents are pretty checked out and just stand on the sidelines to make sure our children don't air-crash into each other and die. I took my son to the bathroom in the middle of all this chaos, trying to really encourage him to not be scared of the public bathroom. He's 4 and high anxiety so this kind of stuff is not easy for us.As we're washing hands, this other woman in the bathroom approaches us to tell me that she overheard us in the stall.....and that she felt inspired! She had been reading books on positive parenting and was really impressed at how I interacted with my kid. That made me feel so great for so many reasons. It was so unexpected! Parents know how hard it is so a compliment from someone else in the bounce-house-trenches is really meaningful. Just wanted to share. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2SlGe2n
