Parents of only children...I would appreciate your insights

My husband and I were not planning to have any children, for many reasons. I became pregnant unexpectedly a few years ago, and we now have a little 18-month-old girl. She’s the best thing in our lives, we’ve never been happier, and regret not starting a family (on purpose) much earlier. Hindsight and all that, I guess. I’m 35 now and we would prefer to make peace with that idea that my daughter will be an only child, but I’m struggling. Obviously, I am well aware that kids in either situation thrive, but my husband and I were both raised with siblings so our frame of reference is pretty influenced by our own childhoods. Parents who have only children (or are only children), can you share your experience? Any advice to offer on raising an only child? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2s4bcTz
