How did you know your family was complete?

We have an almost 3yo and a 6mo baby. Initially I wanted only two kids but my husband convinced me to have three. But now that we have two kids, my husband had since backed down to two, but I can’t shake the idea of having three. We started having kids later in life...I’m 35 and he’s 44. I think if we started earlier we definitely wouldn’t question a third. We would be financially more comfortable with just two kids, but I get sad thinking that this might be my last baby.
