Where do you get inspiration to get through to stubborn children?My 6 year old daughter refused to brush her hair to the point it looked like a possum was nesting in it. Finally I gave her the option that either she could brush it herself, or I could help her, or we could cut all the offending bits away (which was the whole problem, she couldn't reach the tangle and wouldn't ask for help). And as I was brushing her hair after she agreed, I found myself telling her in dead serious tones,"Don't be afraid to ask for help, especially from me and Daddy. You know, you can't always get what you want. But if you try sometimes, and ask for help, you just might find... you get what you need." She nodded sagely and ran off to get ready for her bath.I really hope I'm in the room the first time she hears the Stones. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2EU4fto
