Original Post: http://ift.tt/2BB54GP, thanks to everyone that commented on my last post for their advice and support! After the daycare threatened to remove our children, their behavior “suddenly and magically” improved (their words, not mine). We don’t know what changed, but they quickly stopped telling us our children were unmanageable. It was odd.Shortly after things started to get “better”, several new issues with the daycare cropped up (forgetting to put our kids on the bus, refusing to reinforce potty training with our younger son, and a huge and sudden teacher turnover), my family took a vote of no conifdence in our daycare and we began to look for a new place. We met with the kids’ preschool teachers to find out how they behave there, and they were shocked at what the daycare was seeing. They said that it did not sound like our kids at all and that although our kids have their challenging moments (as all kids do), they are overall good kids who are manageable in a classroom setting. They also told us that both children are resistant to get on the bus in the afternoon and our oldest has said he doesn’t want to leave. This was very concerning and solidified our decision. We then worked with the district to get bus approval for a new daycare - this was actually easier than I thought it would be (they really seemed to understand and empathize with our situation), and we are so thankful the were willing to work with us!From there we looked at a few places and ended up touring and loving a place right near our house - we also got good reccomendations for this place from some other parents we know. They have strong routines and experienced teachers who have been at the daycare for a long time, and our kids will no longer be in the same classroom. They also have several other children there who go to the same preschool as our kids and have similar speech and OT needs, so they are experienced with the kinds of challenges our children can have. We are excited that our children will start there after the holidays. We wish we would have looked sooner as soon as things started to go south with the old daycare - hopefully neither of our kids will have any long-term negative impacts. The moral of the story is, as many commenters said, not every daycare is right for every child. That being said, be willing to listen to feedback about your child’s behavior to help ensure you are helping them to grow up right!Thank you all again for your advice, and happy holidays!tl;dr: Daycare got better and then worse, so we found a new place that seems like a great fit. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2BZz2DH
