To hell with age 3

I'm most of the way through my second time raising a 3-year-old. It is not for the weak, that's for damn sure. My daughter, who is now closer to 4 than 3, is really testing my patience, my grit, my will and self-image as well as my parenting skills.All of the "parenting tools" I so confidently reached for with my first, a son, have absolutely no strength or use with her.Any advice in dealing with a child of amazing contradictions? She is fiercely strong-willed and at the same time amazingly tender and loving. She is wise beyond her years, but still a child learning things for the first time. She is fearless of taking on the world, yet fearful of trying new things (say, food or listening...)I'm looking for a transformation on the other side of 3.
