My over friendly toddler

My eldest son is 3 about to turn 4 and starts full time school in September. He has always been really friendly and confident and is always happy to introduce himself to new people when we are at softplays or parks etc. When we ask about pre-school he mentions lots of kids he plays with and is always excited to go.The problem is over the past month or so I have had the opportunity to go to school and see him in a performance and also sports day. Whilst watching him I have noticed he is really in the face of other children and keeps trying to hug or touch others kids. One girl in particular did not look impressed at all with the attention she was getting from him. I recently handed out party invitations to 5 of the friends he talks about a lot from school but none have RSVP'd. So I am now worrying that he won't have any school friends at his party and these friends don't want to go because of how he has been acting with them.I have tried to have a chat with him about it to say if the friend says no or isn't smiling you should leave them alone and go play with other friends. He got pretty upset with that and went off in a little huff. I am not even sure he fully understood what I was trying to say.I just don't want to knock his confidence and his friendly nature but I don't want him to be overly friendly to the point of putting people off.Any advice on how to deal with it? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2tE4kc9
