We're not a religious family. I've always taught my kids not to believe in supernatural things. They don't watch scary movies or anything. So the other night my wife and I were watching TV in the family room in the basement. Our 4 year old son was already in bed upstairs and our 9 year old daughter was using the bathroom or something downstairs. She hugged us and went upstairs to go to bed. She came back down a minute or two later extremely upset and said she saw a ghost. I thought it was just a shadow from a car driving by or a noise or something. I went up there with her and asked exactly what she saw. The living room was kind of half lit up from the hall and foyer lights. She said she was walking to her room and saw a girl crouched down in front of the couch. She just froze and stared and the girl turned her head and looked at her and disappeared. I kept asking questions thinking she just saw something out of the corner of her eye. She said she had long dark hair. I asked what she was wearing and she shouted "SHE WAS NAKED!". I told her I believe she saw something but there has to be an explanation because there's no such thing as ghosts. She wanted to leave the house immediately...We settled on letting her sleep with us. She felt a little better after she talked to her friend and she told her it was probably an angel. I know what you're thinking. She made it up. Sure kids lie sometimes but she was visibly upset. Her face was red. She was crying, sobbing, and had tears running down her face. Any parent knows fake crying and this wasn't it. So my question is has anyone had something like this happen and how did you deal with it? Shes still afraid to be alone but has gotten a little better. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2sRzLQz
