9 year old son still wetting bed nightly. Why is this happening?

Still wears pull ups, because my wife and I are tired of washing the linens every day. I've waited years for the problem to self-correct, but that never happens. I don't understand why he can't just get up and go to the bathroom. Do we need to seek professional help?
