Hi all, new to Reddit, new to parenting I guess.I'm a 30 year old guy and this week I met a young lad who is 15. On his 16th birthday he will be coming to live with me as foster care in the UK only lasts until they are 16. Whilst technically classed as an adult he is still very much a child of the foster system. My role is to help him mature and develop independent living skills so that he can adjust to life outside the system and hopefully prosper. This will be my first time doing this so it's all new.Is there anyone out there with any advice on bonding with a teenager and avoiding the typical rebellion and dealing with angst that all teenagers, especially foster kids go through?I am prepared to some degree but it's always good to hear from real people who have been through anything similar. Thanks via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2pSabc8
