Hi all,So I have a 16 month old son, and he's always had a hard time sleeping, especially with me. We're quite hippiesh-- he's still breast fed and has always slept in the bed with us. (We now have a single mattress on the floor next to our double mattress on the floor.)It's just a personality thing I think, but other than on (literally) one or two exceptional occasions, I have never been able to get him to sleep except with the use of the pram, car, or (when he was small) bouncy chair thing. My wife is the only one who has been able to get him to nap or go to sleep at night - she usually feeds him to sleep. This is not sustainable, it's a lot of work and stress for her and she will be going away for several weekends starting in September. Any suggestions for how I can go about starting to sleep him? I've tried lying on the bed with him, and we can reach the stage where he's tired and stumbling and lying next to me, before getting up again, but never quite into the land of nod.I'm not a total incompetent though! We were babysitting our 7 month old nephew, and I cuddled him to sleep at 7pm on my second attempt. Both felt a sense of achievement and rubbed salt into the would for my wife. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2pT4vBo
