So, my wife and I have always been keen that our daughter has a more healthy view of gender roles rather than falling in to what society at large tells us. I certainly don't want my daughter to feel that she can't do something because of who she is.And yet, the other day I suggested we do something and she said words to the effect of "girls don't play with [I forgot which toy it was]". That irked me because we'd played with said toy before but also that I presume she must have heard such things at her school.I explained to her that she could do what she wanted and it doesn't matter if you're a boy and girl, but she seemed less than impressed.Have you encountered anything similar? How did you deal with it? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2p1hocc
