Got a phone call from police that 14yr old teenage son and friends were in a brawl. Long history of rebelliousness, mischief and disrespect to us...at whit's end.

Yesterday my 14yr old son told us that he was going to be at his friend's house working on a school project. Two hours later we get a call from police to pick up our son a few miles away from where he was supposed to be....my son and a group of five friends met at a park to fight another group of kids, but the other group unexpectedly turned out to be 50 teenagers. Found out it all started with bullying and taunting on social media.My son is 14. Rebellious. When we ground him, he doesn't listen and just does whatever he wants. He talks back at us. Calling my wife and I annoying and tells us to shut up. He's mischievous and a pathological liar. For him, lying is like breathing. He believes his own lies.And it has been this way since he was 10.We've been through family therapy, the therapists were no help and kept pinning it on my wife and I...saying there's no such thing as a bad kid, just bad parents...and said we disciplined him too much. Our older family and friends think we're too soft on him and to discipline him more (I don't believe that's even possible).To be blunt, my wife and I have tried terribly hard to provide a good life for our family. My son is in a private school and has been since 1st grade. My wife volunteers throughout the year for my son's school and activities. We have him in sports leagues to keep him busy and give him positive influences.This long term behaviour issues has negatively affected my relationship with my wife...and our relationship is on a thread.
