My wife and I think vacations are more memorable so we limit ourselves to a set amount for the kids and go on vacation some time after the holidays so it's not as crazy. Christmas presents are from Santa and vacation from mommy and daddy. We also stress to our kids holidays are for giving also so we make sure to get a few names of children in need and so what we can afford.
