Toy train experts? Having trouble with my toddler's first request for Santa

My 2.5 year old daughter spontaneously expressed her wish for Santa to bring her a train. I don't want to disappoint, but I'm having a surprisingly hard time figuring out what to get. I'm hoping for some help from Reddit.By train, she means a motorized/battery operated train that fits the wooden tracks on the old train table we inherited from my in laws. It came with non-motorized trains but she was entranced when she saw trains that chugged under their own power at a friend's house. Our train table is at least 12 years old. I can't find a brand name. I was going to just buy a Thomas train, but the Amazon reviews said they only worked "on the new Trackmaster tracks", which I guess wouldn't be this table. I found a Brio that looks like it works on a variety of wooden tracks, but the reviews indicate a super-short battery life coupled with hard-to-replace batteries: BRIO Mighty Action Locomotive, Red.I'd appreciate any suggestions for a battery powered train that fits most 1.5 inch wide wooden tracks with 2 grooves and that's powerful enough to make it up a hill.train set pics via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2fzbQA6
