New parent here. How much activity should a newborn be getting? (Details in comments)

My daughter is 10 days old. She's a bit small (under 7 pounds) but healthy. We live in Salt Lake and the weather here has been mild, like 80 degrees. Yesterday my SO and I took her for a 30 minute walk around the block in a stroller. The day before that I put her in an infant car seat and drove about 20 minutes to a friend's house, hung out for an hour, then drove back. My SO is worried that this is too much activity for her, and is arguing that we should keep her calm and in doors for the first month. Is there a good guide for these sorts of questions, like when do I let the baby start watching TV? or How much playtime should the baby get? When is it okay to take a baby for a walk around the block in the stroller? etc. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2dBVfc9
