We're having a hard time with grade 5 because it's in a new school this year and this particular school is 80% digital.Students must own Chromebooks and most of the work is done digitally. I'm supposed to log into his Google account, view his calendar and see what is for homework that night. The problem is that there is no instruction beyond "September Current Events Due". So I have to ask my less-than-honest son, what is this assignment? And hope he tells me.Then there's the inevitable "I forgot it at school" or "I forgot my textbook."I've tried punishing him for forgetting, but he doesn't seem to care. He'd rather be grounded than doing homework.I bought a special homework book for his to get filled out by his teachers, but A. They have no interest in doing it because "it's all online anyway" and B. He just "forgets" it at home or school. Please, I need creative solutions, not "punish him" type advice. Punishment just isn't effective.Edit: This is what his homework calendar looks like: http://ift.tt/2eGS5rV: Thanks to a teacher who uses the same system in her class, I've learned that I'm not supposed to use the calendar to get his homework details, but instead something called Google Classroom. I'm livid that the school doesn't have any sort of introduction to this system, or a workshop for parents unfamiliar with it. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2ejbI6V
