My niece had her birthday party today and my son was literally the only boy there. It was at a nail salon, all of the kids picked out a color and had their nails painted. My son, who loves to do everything his big sister does, wanted his done too. Plus, if he didn't get them done he'd have been just sitting there watching every other child get theirs done and him doing nothing. He proudly picked a color and marched over to an open station, handed his color over and said "PLEASE!" Sticking his hands out. The person doing his nails was thrown off, but did it with a smile, a surprised smile, but a smile. There were some that were genuinely finding it cute, however; majority looked at me like I'm INSANE. One technician raised her brows and instantly started rambling in her native language. I looked over and told her "Yes. He's getting his nails done. He's 2. A baby. And he wants to be included with everyone else attending the party." And went to check on my daughter. The surrounding technicians chuckled at my reaction and told him his color was pretty, even the ones that clearly didn't approve of my parenting techniques. But whatever, he loves them. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2dnFmHi
