Liar liar, pants on fire (4yr old Pinocchio)

Mornin' Redditors,Lately my 4 yr old's once-cute fanciful tales about crazy things happening to him at school are now turning into blatant lies about things we've asked him to do that he didn't do. ("Did you brush your teeth?" "Yes"...when we know he didn't.) I know he's at the age to be testing out his lying ability, but I want to curb it as much as we can. His stepdad is really good about catching him lying and calling him out, being careful to reinforce that it's okay to tell us you didn't do something but it's not okay to lie about it. I'm curious if y'all found anything to be especially effective as far as reinforcement for truth-telling, or a way to keep kiddos from lying? He is otherwise a super good kid with awesome behavior. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2eo3bmv
