I have two kids, Kid 1 is five years old and typical, Kid 2 is 6 months old and was just diagnosed with a Trisomy condition similar to Down syndrome.Because Kid 2 is so young, we don't know how severe her symptoms will be. Talking to other parents of kids with the same syndrome, we can expect limited mobility, diapers until 6-8 years old, and very limited communication. In short, she'll probably have intellectual disabilities and will never live on her own. I can handle all these things- it was a shock to receive the diagnosis but she's a really wonderful baby and we just adore her and will do anything for her and her brother. Now, the curveball- I'm accidentally pregnant again, about 5 weeks along. This was not planned. I had to have fertility treatments to get pregnant with #2, so it's an absolute shock that this has happened so easily. So my question to parents who have similarly disabled kids: do you feel it's fair to bring another child into the mix with a Special Needs kid so early in her life?I keep thinking that a third child would be such a hardship- financially, emotionally, physically. I worry that I won't be able to care for a newborn when I also have to care for Special Needs kid.I need to hear from people who have been there, or who are currently there, I need to hear the good and the bad of your experiences.I really don't want to terminate this pregnancy, but I keep thinking how everyone will suffer if we add a third child. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2eoNnew
