Just for background, I have a 7 year old son. He has obvious behavioral issues at home and sometimes at school. I have tried so many approaches as far as discipline goes. I don’t let him get away with his bad behavior and have always reprimanded him for it. Literally everyday he is throwing things, slamming doors, hitting the door, screaming at me over SOMETHING. If I ignore him, it escalates. If I reprimand him, the behavior escalates. I’ve gotten to the point i’m not sure if I should get him Christmas presents this year, but I already feel like i’m doing everything wrong and that this may be the wrong decision as well.
