Just found out our daughter, who is 23 months is allergic to amoxicillin (and I would assume anything in the penicillin family) quick back story: daughter breaks out in a rash, we take her to the drs, its impetigo. While there dr discovers an ear infection. Prescribes amoxicillin to knock it all out. A week goes by and our daughter is getting worse and worse; breaking out in full body rash, fever, constantly throwing up. We assume it's related to the impetigo/ear infection and continue to pump her full of amoxicillin.Fast forward to yesterday we schedule an emergency dr appt and come to find out she is allergic to amoxicillin. Prescribed a new antibiotic as well as prednisone. Both my wife and I feel completely awful and practically to blame for not picking up on the allergic reaction sooner.Anyone ever been in a similar situation? We are all around feeling pretty lousy and like we let our daughter down.Edit: if anyone has any recommendations for mixing liquid prednisone too, we'll gladly take them. We've tried yogurt and pudding thus far via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2ZmqEr2
