This sounds ridiculous, now that I’ve typed it out, but I’d really like some help. TIA!My son gets asked to spend the night with friends on occasion (maybe 4 or 5 times between two very close friends). We have had other kids over to spend the night twice, but I avoid it because I have no idea what to do. It feels awkward and stressful. Obviously this isn’t fair to our kid, and I feel rude not reciprocating with other parents. Maybe if I had some general idea of what to do, I could gain some confidence & improvise from there? Can you give me a detailed play-by-play for a 3rd/4th/5th grade sleepover? Planned/unplanned activities, dinner options, types of snacks, time for lights out, sleeping bags or in the bed together, breakfast foods, morning expectations/activities, going home time... What do I expect from the other kids? What can I do to make sure they’re comfortable & their parents are comfortable? How do I help ensure everyone has fun?Again, I appreciate the feedback! via /r/Parenting http://bit.ly/2JEvcnT
