I'm so proud of my best friend's parenting

So this is a bit of a longer story, but it grabbed me right by the heart strings when she told us.My wife and I had a premature pregnancy that resulted in a beautiful baby girl who's currently in the NICU. It's been stressful, but incredibly rewarding seeing her grow over the last while. I unfortunately have to travel back and forth while my wife is at the Ronald McDonald house to be close to her.Since she's been born, our best friends son has been super excited to see her, but due to the rules of the NICU, he can't visit because he's too young. The other day, they had seen a charity for the Terry Fox foundation and he asked his mom about it, and she donated 2 dollars while they were at McDonalds to the Ronald McDonald house. He asked if that's where my wife and I were staying and she replied that it was. This absolute sweetheart of a kid had some change that he was saving for candy later, which he decided to donate as well. They had driven home and were eating supper ( during which time she had texted us and told us what he did ) and he came downstairs and without knowing that we were told yet said that he wanted to donate the rest of his money that he was saving ( for a Nintendo Switch, mind you ) because he wanted us to be happy and proud of him.We both said that just the thought itself was more than enough and incredibly mature for his age. We obviously didn't want him to give all of his money away since he deserves it so much. It was just so surprising to see him save for months for that and be willing to give it all away.Good lord, even typing it out again makes me misty eyed. I'm so proud of him, and his mom for everything she's done for him. I just wanted to share this with everyone because even on the tough days where it feels like you aren't doing enough, those little moments are so incredibly satisfying and rewarding. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2CETQQR
