The human cost of raising a child is incredible....

Ever since January of 2018, my then 16 month old daughter has gone through an ear infection, and two common colds by March, in the process both me, my wife, and my mother who was here to help out all got sick (fevers, too weak to take care of the child, coughing lasting a month, etc), one after another. Then, finally all of us recovered. Then we took her to our home country of China for 1 month. In the 3rd week, my daughter diagnosed with pneumonia, with fever 101.5 to 102 lasting a week even with motrin an tylenol. She is now on IV drip of antiobiotics. In the mean time, her mom contracted same pneumonia (probably from taking care of her) and also on IV drip, and now her mom (who has been living in China) is feeling sick too. In the mean time, because all adults are now too sick to take care of the sick child, her uncles and aunts form both sides of the family now need to com and take care of the child, many of whom may fall sick too. Now we need to reschedule our flights back, and because her mom is too sick, she cannot fly back with us together, which means we have to find a full time nanny to take care of my daughter. And sow now every single other plan you have with regards to your life, your career, etc is completely on hold or cancelled.Since Jan of this year, my daughter and my wife has seen more days with fevers and illness than not. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2HFxWNY
