I posted this question back 6 months ago when I brought my baby home to care for her and I just wanted to give an update, in case anyone is interested and because I'm so proud of her :)OP: https://ift.tt/2K4Tqo5 is now 8 months old and is catching up. She still has no outstanding severe cognitive issues, but is still a little delayed. She did have to wear a helmet for about 12 weeks, but it's since been taken off. Her head will never be 100% normal shaped, but it's as round as it's going to get.She is rolling over, sitting up, and wants to crawl so bad; but, just isn't there yet. She loves to sing, yell, and eat! She wants everything anyone is eating! However, she is still small for her age group and underweight; even on a formula and baby food diet. We will get there, it's still a work in progress.Birth mom is MIA. She's been in and out of rehabs for the last six months, with limited contact. She missed visits, said she would come, but never did, and finally the social worker said that she needed to abide by our schedule if she wanted to see the baby. After the boundaries were implemented, she turned into a ghost. She says that she can't stand to see the baby, because it hurts HER; no thought to how she's hurt the baby. She did manage to setup a GoFundMe for her dog, so there's a heart in there somewhere. Both parents are going to lose their parental rights and reunification is not being recommended by DCFS; meaning that we will be adopting. Thanks for all your advice! <3 via /r/Parenting https://www.reddit.com/r/Parenting/comments/8edlyf/update_to_advice_discussion_op_need_advice_on/?utm_source=ifttt
