Son hit his head and was unresponsive, in ER

My 2.5YO son was exploring the kitchen cabinet and stumbled on himself, he fell backwards onto his butt, and rolled back, hitting his head on the hardwood floor. His eyes immediately rolled back to his head and became unresponsive, we held him for about fifteen seconds thinking he would come back, but when he didn't we started to panic. He was twitching or convulsing in his mom's arms, and he started to turn blue and pale, he looked dead, he was unresponsive.I performed CPR that was all I could do, and it looked like he began to come back, as he was resisting me, during this time he was concious, but he was not responsive at all, and his arms were trembling. We are in the ER, and he is now responsive and acting like himself. His hebut I am very worried that he may incur some sort of brain damage due to the lack of oxygen. He has hit head on numerous occasions and he always seems ok, but I am considering putting a helmet on him until he is strong enough to counter act the momentum from his head, because I'm seems to be an ongoing issue. If he can fall and hit his head doing nothing inherently dangerous, I think he will have to wear a helmet.Has anyone else experienced anything like this? via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2HJDEAU
