Consent

My son is 4 and a half and has always been a better-to-ask-forgiveness-than-permission type. A friend from down the street was visiting yesterday and I was shocked at how often she asked before doing things: to take off her socks, to go in a different room, to use the stairs, etc. My son does not do that, and he doesn't really get the concept of personal space. He did, however, ask his friend if he could give her a hug, and when she said no, he DIDN'T HUG HER. I am so proud. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2K8kNxH
