Teaching my daughter to say “Please”

My 14 month old was asking me for her pacifier. I told her if she wanted it she had to say please.Normally, I would’ve just given it to her. She’s a bit of a smarty pants and I know she is capable of repeating what I say. But, that being said, she is also incredibly stubborn (genetics from her mother). After 23 minutes of an intense fit (screaming, head throwing, feet kicking etc) I took my dog outside and when I came back she said “Soo Soo?” I asked her again to say please, and this time she said it right away. I was thrilled, and it led me to this question:How did you teach your child/children to be respectful and to have manners? Did it work? Looking back, would you have done anything differently?TL;DR: I asked my daughter to say please, she had a fit forever but eventually did it. How did you teach your kid(s)? via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2HDLaLf
