3 year old male40”38lbsNo meds or health conditionsThe day after Easter, my son came home from school throwing up. Typical stomach virus symptoms; handful of vomiting episodes, fatigue, low grade fever, diarrhea a couple days later. He seemed to be on the mend but Thursday he threw up again. We had a respite of about 4 days where he seemed back to normal again, but the following Wednesday he threw up again.Last Friday he went to his pediatrician and she did vitals and a physical exam and chalked it up to a virus as some other kids in his class got it. The following evening he threw up again but went right back to playing. The next day (this past Sunday) he took several BMs back to back and it was like a switch went off and he seemed back to normal. Wife took him in for blood work Monday and all was normal. All week this week he’s been absolutely fine; energetic, pretty normal appetite, etc. Today when he got home he was ravenous; all he wanted to do was eat. Around bedtime he said he was tired (bedtime is usually a struggle) and about an hour ago he woke up crying. 20 minutes later he threw up all over the place, and then again about 20 minutes later, now he’s laid out on the couch acting miserable. This just doesn’t make sense. None of us have caught it, all of his friends were down for 2-3 days then back to normal. I’ve thought of a possible food allergy but I can only come up with one thing: oranges. He loves those little mandarins and he gets them at home and school. During the diarrhea phase of the first week, it had a lot of orange pulp in it. When he threw up at school last Wednesday he’d had oranges for lunch. Today he had some and when he threw up tonight there were whole orange pieces in it. But would a food allergy cause the fatigue and everything?I just don’t know when we’re in the clear and I want my little guy to be back to normal. I just don’t know how to explain these stretches of being perfectly fine punctuated by episodes of vomiting. And wouldn’t it show in his blood values if it were viral? I’m so terrified it’s something serious. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2vxvFlD
