Do you supply food for your nanny?

We recently got a nanny to come and watch our child. She brings her child to our house because her kid is the same age as mine, and we agreed that it was ok before hiring her.Yesterday she told me that her child was upset that she didn’t have the same lunch as mine, so she just gave her kid something from our pantry instead. It kind of surprised me because I didn’t realize that I was supposed to supply food for her and her kid- I assumed she would bring a packed lunch for them every day. I called her and joked that we need to plan similar lunches so the kids don’t get upset and she provided me with a list of food her kid likes- with the implication that I was going to buy it. We only need a nanny for a couple of months while transitioning to a new preschool, so should I just suck it up and provide food for them too. Is this something most nannies expect? I went and bought some snacks for the kids to share last night, but I don’t know what she’s expecting of me and it’s awkward to mention it now that she’s already eaten some of our food. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2qMzsWp
